And, national average patient length of stay is a whooping 6+ hours

BrainScope is a novel neuro diagnostic tool for ED Clinicians to assess for brain bleed & concussion in under 15 mins

Product Market Mismatch

Contextual research distilled a not so pretty picture in our core target market of Emergency Departments.

Existing medical device and all of the service offering were geared towards concussion clinics, while the company had pivoted towards Emergency Department and point of care contexts.

Process friction & change management

ACTION: Pulling Product, People & Process levers

  • Product : Led in-app guidance UX, instructional videos, improved user material, Device cart

  • People : Service maps for process clarity, Training aids & S.O.P. pivots for customer ops team

  • Process : Led introduction of new electroconductive gel & prep process

Legacy product development processes

Over time, product development tools and processes, specially in design and product management needed to catch up with best practices.

Not using design systems, or modern experience design tools within DevOps and product development process.

  • Product roadmap, requirements & backlog were cumbersome and unwieldy

  • Documentation & review process for design control & change control was onerous
